Learning how to use, send or receive crypto is as easy as 1, 2, 3. In the guide below we will show you exactly what you need to know.

1. Getting Started (Download Wallet)

Step 1 is downloading and installing a crypto wallet. For now, we recommend MetaMask. Setting up MetaMask can be confusing for some people so we have a video guide below on how to setup your wallet. Alternatingly you can read the text guide below.

Download MetaMask https://metamask.io/

Install on your Computer or Mobile Device. It is very important, get out a piece of paper and pen. Write down your 12 word seed phrase (do not take a photo), name it something like (yourname) Wallet MetaMask (todays date). I would also recommend having an envelope you can store all of your private data like this and put in somewhere safe, like a safe.

You will need to verify the seed phrase to activate your wallet. Once activated you will never need to use that seed phrase again, unless you want to recover your wallet on another device. (can not just be recovered from your phone) be sure you keep a copy.

2. Buy Some Crypto Currency

Now that you have a cryptocurrency wallet, next its time to get some cryptocurrency.

Step 2, the most popular place to buy cryptocurrency is Coinbase. You can also buy from various other places as well just be sure they are verified and a trusted source. Not all crypto exchanges operate the same. Below is a video on how to buy cryptocurrency on Coinbase, specifically ETH.

By using Coinbase you are able to easily and in some cases instantly buy cryptocurrency with your debit card or bank account. Note, you can also buy USDT or USDC and send these assets on Ethereum or similar networks such as Binance Smart Chain. Also you could save money on fees if using the SEI Network or the Binance Smart Chain.

3. How to Send Cryptocurrency

Great now that you have purchased some cryptocurrency you will now want to send this to your wallet you just created with MetaMask. You can find your address at the top of your wallet starting with 0x this long string of numbers with the 0x is your wallet address. You can just click to copy your address, and from coinbase or any exchange click on the asset you want to send, enter your address you just copied, enter the amount, preview, and click on send.

Normally, once you are verified and use a debit card crypto is available instantly. (we don’t recommend using bank transfer as it can take up to 3 days to be available to withdraw).

Awesome, that’s it! You now have just acquired some cryptocurrency and withdrew it from the exchange and are in 100% full control of your assets! Keep in mind, if someone else gets or finds your seed phrase to your MetaMask they can restore your wallet and send funds without your permission. Keep that piece of paper secure and in a safe place.

Next you are ready to visit the store, add some products to the cart and checkout using Cryptocurrency and MetaMask.

Keep in mind if you are on a mobile phone, use the MetaMask browser and visit our website to complete the purchase. When using a laptop, or desktop computer you just need the browser extension and you are good to go. There will be a popup to connect your wallet to the site and another confirmation to verify the amount being spent on the order.
